Bahoi is a small village in North Sulawesi, renowned for its Marine Protected Area. Work with the community to strengthen local understanding of conservation benefits, and help monitor seagrass health and the local dugong population.
Bulutui is picturesque North Minahasa village, and a former a blast-fishing hotspot. Work with YAPEKA and JBS to support octopus and other community fisher groups to further their development of sustainable fisheries and establish community patrols.
In Tarabitan, with UNEP support, YAPEKA and JBS are initiating the development of a community-based spirulina farming enterprise to provide an alternative to livelihoods based on fishing. You will also help with seagrass monitoring and BRUV surveys.
